It feels like only yesterday, or a hundred years ago, that I walked the halls of the Renaissance Schaumburg Hotel & Convention Center for Axpona 2024.
Axpona is, as we all know, a really big show—the largest in the US—with over 200 listening rooms filled with thousands of hifi products all in the service of. . .music.

I know some people want to argue audiophiles only love gear which is like arguing oenophiles only love bottles. With that being said, a hifi show is largely focused on gear (that makes music), just as attending a concert is focused on music (not the sound system).
I am booked, flight and lodgings, and can’t wait to see what Axpona 2025 has in store. My hope is to come away with a bunch of new gear slated for review further on down the road, perhaps some new music to explore, and lots of memories centered around seeing old and new friends who share a love of this wonderful pursuit.
