Newark, NJ, birthplace of Hammond B-3 master Larry Young, guitar virtuoso Marc Ribot, poets Amiri Baraka and Allen Ginsberg, and conceptual artist extraordinaire Barbara Kruger (I shop therefore I am), is also home to Panasonic/Technics US.

A short 24-minute drive across a river and into the trees brought me, once again, to the home of GTT Audio. This time for a look and listen to the new flagship Vivid Audio Moya M1 Loudspeakers.

After we completed our 2nd day tour of Gold Note, we boarded two vans headed south from Tuscany to our final factory tour located in the seaside and port city of Civitavecchia, home to Audia Flight and Alare Labs.

The next stop on our Italian HiFi Manufacturer’s Tour took us to Tuscany, the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance, Dante Alighieri, Giovanni Boccaccio, Niccolò Machiavelli, great wines, unreal landscapes, and Gold Note.

Our Italian journey began in Munich’s Hauptbahnhof on Sunday at 06:00 for the 6+ hour train ride to Venice’s Mestre Station, just one stop before Venice proper.

The oldest settler building in North America, the Palace of Governors in Santa Fe, dates back to 1610. The oldest building in Italy, the Pantheon in Rome, dates back to about 125AD.

Last Friday morn’, I took a short drive over a river and through the woods to the home of GTT Audio, the Long Valley, NJ-based dealer/distributor, to hear a bunch of Vivid (Audio) Speakers.
