The Barn has been buzzing of late with whispers of Ø Audio coming from a number of secret and trusted sources.
So I am thrilled to share the news—Harmonia to Distribute Ø Audio of Norway in the US.

Ø Audio was founded in 2017 by Sveinung Mala and Jonathan Magnus Cook and the company has three loudspeakers on offer—the Frigg 02, the Icon 12, and the top of the line Verdande (pictured up top).

As you can see, the Icon 12 and Verdande sport horn-loaded tweeters while the smaller Frigg gets a directivity-controlled tweeter. And as you might expect, every model offers a friendly load at or above 90dB sensitivity with an 8 Ohm impedance. Nice.
Pricing:
Frigg 02: $13,900/pair
Icon 12: $23,400/pair
Verdande: $39,500/pair
I’ve already inquired about getting a pair of Ø Audio speakers in Barn through Harmonia Distribution. Stay tuned!
Here’s the press release:
Harmonia to Distribute Ø Audio of Norway in the US
The exciting loudspeaker brand joins our roster of world-class audio
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Harmonia Distribution is proud to announce the addition of a new high-end brand to its offerings. Ø Audio, a celebrated loudspeaker brand from Norway, will now be available in the United States through the Southern California based distribution company.
Founded in 2017, Ø Audio recently captivated the world of hi-fi at the Audio Video Show 2024, Warsaw, with its groundbreaking two-way horn and woofer design. It currently has three offerings, the Frigg 02, Icon 12, and Verdande.
The entry-level $13,900 Frigg 02 is a three-way floorstander with a unique Metamodal Spread Tow Carbon Fiber (TPCD) dome tweeter, 7” mid, and 8.6” woofer. The bigger drivers are hand-coated paper cones on 26 mm and 52 mm titanium formers, respectively. This is entry-level that challenges reference designs.
The $23,400 Icon 12 is a two-way that’s a revision of Ø Audio’s acclaimed first product, the Icon. A horn-loaded 3.4” carbon fiber tweeter works with a 12” woofer, both housed in a beautiful asymmetrical cabinet.
The top of the range is occupied by the $39,500 Verdande in the same format as the Icon 12, but with a 15” woofer.
“Ø Audio might be new, but it is a mature hi-fi brand and I am very excited about its potential in the US market,” says David Schultz, president, Harmonia Distribution. “Most importantly, the speakers sound incredible, and I can’t wait for you all to hear them.”
About Ø Audio
Ø Audio was founded in 2017 by Sveinung Mala and Jonathan Magnus Cook, and quickly became known for the Icon, a two-way floorstander with horn driver and 12” woofer in an asymmetrical cabinet. It garnered multiple awards, a vindication of its “anti-commercial” ethos that prioritizes sound quality and innovation over a vanilla mass-market appeal.
In 2021, Ø Audio expanded the line-up and grew the company with a plan to conquer a global market, growing the team and making significant investments in infrastructure.
Says Sveinung, “We believe that a great speaker should feel alive, effortlessly filling a room with sound that moves you. That’s why Ø Audio designs with a no-compromise approach—every note, every nuance is exactly as it was meant to be heard.”
Jonathan adds, “With Harmonia Distribution, Ø Audio is bringing its no-compromise philosophy to the US, setting new standards and redefining what true high-performance sound should be. Get ready to experience something extraordinary.”
