I enjoy a good celebration.
In March of 2005, my first review, of a pair of interconnects from PHY, went live on 6moons. In September of 2009, my first article for Stereophile, an AWSI titled Fragile Souls, was published in the magazine [footnote 1]. September of 2011 marked the launch of AudioStream (no link available, sigh), where I served as Editor through 2018.
Twittering Machines first saw the eternal light of Internet in 2007 as a place for friends to share music. TM was re-christened in 2018 with its current focus on HiFi, Music, Art & Culture. After a year, I took a year break from all things hifi (writing), and the first article upon my return on July 18, 2020 was a review of Phoebe Bridgers Punisher.
So here I sit, roughly a year back in the game, and I have to tell you I’m enjoying every damn day. I want to thank everyone for the warm welcome(s) back, and the continued support from readers, Patrons, and advertisers. The first post-break review went live last September, and I’ve since published over 40 reviews, which is right about where I wanted to be. This includes reviews from Germany’s Fidelity International Magazine and I couldn’t be happier about our relationship as it brings more voices and different perspectives to TM. I’ve also penned a number of reviews for my friend and colleague darko.audio, had some of my art work in a few shows, so it has been a busy, if strange, year.

AudioStream launched just before RMAF 2011, so I’ve always had a soft spot for that wonderful show. I am fully booked for this year’s RMAF, scheduled for October 8 – 10, and very much look forward to socializing with readers, friends, and colleagues for the first time since Munich 2019.

Today also happens to mark my 60th birthday, and I can remember, like it was yesterday, thinking that my then 30-year old uncle was just so old. Time has a funny way of changing.
I very much look forward to more.
Cheers.
- Growing up, my father (MSEE) was a Stereophile subscriber, I (BA Fine Art) was a Listener, and he got to read that AWSI in the magazine which meant the world to me.
