In Barn for Review: Fern & Roby Raven III

Feeling single? The recently released Fern & Roby Raven III use a single driver, one in each speaker, housed in a solid walnut cabinet with a black Richlite front baffle to produce music.

That whizzer-endowed single driver is manufactured by Norway’s SEAS to Fern & Roby’s specs. The frequency response of the driver itself, sans cabinet, is rated at 30 Hz to 20 kHz while Fern & Roby claim their front ported implementation reaches below 40 Hz in room.

Internal wiring comes courtesy of Black Cat Cable and the chunky copper binding posts are supplied by Cardas.

Even the Raven III’s back side is covered in a matching walnut veneer so its good looks, to my eyes, aren’t just up front.

I had a sneak peek at the Raven III’s at this year’s Capitol Audiofest so I have a notion of what to expect. Stay tuned for more.
