What makes a HiFi show good? In addition to location, the thing that makes a HiFi show a good one is its organizers, and AudioConLA promises to be good if not better, thanks to Sarah Tremblay and Michel Plante, the dynamic duo behind Montreal Audiofest and Toronto Audiofest.

Time slotted to act as a CES replacement, AudioConLA, presented by Los Angeles and Orange County Audio Society, will be held in sunny southern California from January 14 to 16, 2022, at the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach, CA, a resort built on 26-acres overlooking Newport Bay. My guess is that’s a nicer view than the John Wayne airport.
From the press release:
Positioned nearly equidistant from key Asian markets and the EU, LA is an ideal location to hold an exclusive annual high-end show. Combined, Sarah and Michel have decades of experience in organizing successful and universally acclaimed international industry events, and we are confident that with them at the helm, AudioConLA will continue their winning streak. Sarah and Michel understand our desire to make AudioConLA a uniquely entertaining and worthwhile experience for music lovers, audiophiles, and exhibitors, by offering the public a safe and fun environment conducive to listening to music and shopping for audio and audio-related accessories, including speakers, electronics, sources, headphones, and cables, among other items.
The month of January offers a fresh start to the year, as will AudioConLA, the year’s FIRST high-end audio show. LA’s year-round warm and sunny weather will offer visitors from most of North America and much of the world a respite from the winter blues. We heartily welcome each of you to come visit the first annual international AudioConLA in beautiful Newport Beach.
AudioConLA 2022 will also present two world-class music concerts to be held at the hotel’s exclusive 1200 seat tree-lined outdoor amphitheater, the home of the Newport Beach Jazz Festival. Performers will include internationally renowned jazz pianist / singer Anne Bisson on Friday evening and the pop-sensation Charlotte Cardin on Saturday evening.
Tempted to attend? Me too.
