Moin is Raime.
To be more specific, Moin is drummer Valentina Magaletti and Raime’s Joe Andrews and Tom Halstead and Paste is their second album. Found sounds, sampled spoken words, crushing guitar, power tools, Paste is more song oriented than the music from Raime, but its still as bracing, jarring, and groovy.
At times sounding like a more skeletal Sonic Youth, Paste is also a rough ride through the darker parts of the psyche, twisted human sounds pitch shifted and at times screeching to mic-busting limits, I also hear touches of other music I love, challenging music, but Moin commingles all of these elements to cook up something new.
Paste demands time, volume, and an adventurous palette. My kinda stew.
