I wish I was going to HIGH END Munich 2022, my favorite hifi show on Earth, but its not to be this year. But as you may know, things happen even if we’re not there.
This year, the fine folks at High End Munich have split the show days down the middle, with first two days for trade only, and the last two days for the general public. The show opens on May 19 and runs through the 22 and promises to the big, big show of the year with 550 exhibitors representing 1500 brands (!). A whopping 21,000 visitors are expected, which positively dwarfs any US-based show by a healthy margin.

Speaking of health, you can read the show’s COVID-19 recommendations here, but they include practical measures including social distancing and required medical masks in the entire exhibition area.

I will sorely miss everything about High End, both inside and outside the show, and most of all the people I only get to see in Munich. Missing the Silbatone room, which brings with it the rarest of the rare mixed with the sumptuous and new for a wow-inducing experience every year, offers a particularly large pang. Sigh.
I wish everyone attending safe travels and a hoot of a good time, which I’m sure will be had by all. Here’s to next year…
