KEF’s new Coda W Wireless HiFi Speakers come in colors with names like Vintage Burgundy, Nickel Grey, Moss Green, Midnight Blue, and Dark Titanium, colors that could very well be on offer in a nice thick cardigan.
And I have no problem with hifi products geared toward people who don’t know SINAD from NORAD.
The new KED Coda W is built around KEF’s proprietary 12th generation Uni-Q® driver array that houses a 1″ aluminum dome high frequency driver sitting in the acoustic center of a 5.25″ magnesium/aluminum mid-low frequency handling alloy cone powered by 30 and 70 Watts of Class D power per side respectively. Connectivity resides in one speaker and includes digital (USB, Optical, HDMI ACR), analog RCA and an MM phono input to play your vinyl(s) as well as Bluetooth (5.4 aptX AdaptiveTM). A Sub Out accommodates adding more bass.
While they are called “Wireless” you need to use the included 3M USB Type C interspeaker cable or optional 8M C-Link Interspeaker Cable cable to connect the pair.
There are top-mounted controls for basic functions as well as an included remote but to really dig into the Coda W’s full feature set, the KEF Connect App provides access to DSP-based EQ presets, speaker settings, and firmware updates.
