If you want power in your pocket, if you need power in your pocket, iFi’s new GO bar portable USB DAC/headphone amp may be your lucky charm. Pictured is iFi’s 10th Anniversary Limited Edition GO bar that brings along the bling.
In addition to a bevy of quality parts packed inside the flash drive-sized GO bar, you can customize the its sound with four digital filter options and two analog processing modes.
Four bespoke digital filtering options:
Bit Perfect – no digital filtering, no pre or post ringing
Standard – modest filtering, modest pre and posting ringing
Minimum Phase – slow roll-off, minimum pre and post ringing
Gibbs Transient Optimised – minimum filtering, no pre-ringing and minimum post ringingTwo analogue processing modes:
XBass+ – an analogue bass boost to ‘add back’ lost bass response for more accurate reproduction of the original
XSpace – a holographic sound field to open up your music to give you the spaciousness of a live concert
The Go bar’s amp offers 475mW into 32 ohms and 7.5V into 600 ohms to drive even difficult headfi loads. The 16-core XMOS micro controller and 32-bit Cirrus Logic DAC chipset supports PCM resolutions up to 32-bit/384kHz, native playback up to DSD256, and full MQA decoding.
Side mounted controls offer volume control as well as access to the four digital filters and analog processing modes, while a row of color LEDs let you see the sample rate and flavor of the incoming data along with selected modes.
The gold-plated 10th Anniversary Edition GO bar is limited to 1000 pieces and includes a copper chassis for enhanced build quality and shielding, enhanced power supply filtering, while weighing in at 40g more than the original.
