KEF Luxes Things Up With the New Ross Lovegrove-designed LS LUXE Wireless Speakers

How many hifi products put the name of their industrial designer out front in a press release?

I don’t know the exact answer but I’d say not many for two reasons—not many hifi products are designed by an industrial designer and even when they are their names are typically not front and center. All to say I applaud KEF for hiring Lovegrove and for making his name prominent in the LS LUXE press release.

And for good reason—the new LS LUXE are, dare I say it, a ‘lifestyle’ product which in the world of hifi means the way they look has been carefully considered so that they become part of your home and its decor. Like they blend. Harmoniously, even.

Of course the LS LUXE are filled with proprietary KEF tech—12th-generation 6.5-inch Uni-Q driver featuring Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MATTM), the debut of patent-pending Velocity Control Technology (VECO), and KEF’s proprietary Music Integrity Engine® (MIE) . What’s more, the active LS LUXE are plug and play with a total of 380 Watts of power per speaker, 280W of Class D for the low frequency driver and 100 W of Class A/B for the high frequency driver, and plenty of connectivity options to suit your needs.

The LS LUXE pair consist of a primary and secondary speaker with the primary hosting the inputs including HDMI eARC, TOSLINK, Coax, 3.5mm Analog, RJ45 Ethernet (network), and a second RJ45 Ethernet port to connect primary to secondary or you can opt to go with a wireless connection that lowers the interspeaker connection from 24-bit/192kHz to 24-bit/96kHz. A subwoofer out on each speakers allows for adding a pair if the LS LUXE’s claimed Frequency Range of 35 Hz – 47 kHz doesn’t satisfy your bottom end needs or you can add the optional KW1 wireless subwoofer adapter kit ($249.99/set) for a cable-free connection between LS LUXE and KEF subwoofers.

I’m not sure which side I like more

Once connected to your home network, the LS LUXE offer support for Tidal, Amazon Music, Qobuz, Deezer, UPnP/DLNA, Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, QPlay, AirPlay, and Google Cast so you’re free to stream away. Roon is coming via firmware sometime in 2027 but KEF’s own Connect app is one alternative. There’s also a number of DSP-based EQ options to tailor the LS LUXE’s sound to your room and taste.

“At KEF, we have always aimed to redefine the listening experience and make it truly inspiring. LS LUXE is that vision realized,” said Grace Lo, President & Head of Global Marketing at KEF. “True luxury doesn’t announce itself – it transforms the atmosphere of a space, blending design excellence and acoustic mastery in a way that feels both immersive and effortless. When people ask what luxury sounds like, this is our answer.”

The LS LUXE come in colors (with luxe names)—Dusk Titanium, Eclipse Black, and Mineral White and come with a retail price of $3,999.99/pair. The optional Slate grey stands add $799.99 to the total.

LUXURY LISTENING, REDEFINED: KEF LAUNCHES LS LUXE

A fusion of refined sculptural design and uncompromising acoustic excellence

Marlboro, NJ – July 30, 2026: For 65 years, KEF has shaped the future of sound through audio innovation. Today, KEF announces its most ambitious creation to date: the LS LUXE. Developed in partnership with acclaimed visionary designer Ross Lovegrove, LS LUXE redefines the meaning of luxury listening.

Sculptural Design Meets Acoustic Excellence

LS LUXE transforms every space into an oasis of pure, immersive sound, combining refined visual artistry with advanced acoustic engineering. At its core: KEF’s 12th-generation 6.5-inch Uni-Q® driver featuring Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MATTM), and the debut of patent-pending Velocity Control Technology (VECO). Together, these breakthroughs set a new definition for wireless Hi-Fi and elevated living.

Designed by Ross Lovegrove

LS LUXE, a functional work of art that captivates the senses and enriches its environment, whether music is playing or not. Continuing KEF’s collaboration with visionary designer Ross Lovegrove, LS LUXE carries forward a legacy of icons, including Muon, Mu headphones, and the Muo portable speaker. Internationally renowned for his sculptural, organic forms, Lovegrove has transformed LS LUXE into an object that demands attention where sculpture and technology become one.

Performance by Design

LS LUXE is both a sculptural piece of art and a wireless speaker engineered to redefine luxury listening. Its rounded, low-diffraction design, robust materials, flexible decoupling chassis, and advanced bulk moulding compound enable a purer sound experience, with sharper clarity and deeper bass, setting a new benchmark beyond the gold-standard LS50 Wireless II.

Hear Every Detail – Powered by KEF’s Innovative 12th-Generation 6.5-inch Uni-Q® with MATTM Technology

LS LUXE delivers breathtaking clarity and powerful bass. Featuring KEF’s 12th-generation 6.5-inch Uni-Q® driver array with advanced Metamaterial Absorption Technology (MATTM), it offers a wider sweet spot and minimal distortion. Decades of KEF innovation have culminated in this latest Uni-Q® design, with the tweeter precisely positioned at the acoustic center of the woofer—ensuring perfectly even sound dispersion throughout your space.

MattTM Technology acts as an acoustic black hole, absorbing 99% of unwanted rear sound from the tweeter to virtually eliminate distortion – delivering a wider sweet spot, exceptionally low coloration, and an immersive, natural listening experience.

To maintain this purity, the Uni-Q® assembly is mechanically decoupled with a flexible chassis, isolating vibrations and ensuring the integrity of every note.

Unrivalled Bass Precisions – Introducing Velocity Control Technology (VECO):

LS LUXE delivers a highly controlled sound with improved bass accuracy and reduced distortion. The first speaker to feature KEF’s patent-pending Velocity Control Technology (VECO), LS LUXE builds on its successful debut in the XIO soundbar to remove elements that can obscure detail in the sound. This closed-loop system uses a velocity sensor to monitor the Uni-Q® driver in real time, feeding data instantly to a custom amplifier that corrects any movement inconsistencies.

Consistent Clarity at Any Volume—Driven by Music Integrity Engine® (MIE)

Enhanced detail, accuracy and tonality even for lower volumes and across longer listening sessions, LS LUXE’s advanced hardware is complemented by exceptional software for consistent clarity and balance.

KEF’s proprietary Music Integrity Engine® (MIE) uses finely tuned DSP algorithms to maintain definition and exceptional performance as amplifiers work harder.

Combining a 100W Class AB and 280W Class D current-drive amplifier per speaker, LS LUXE delivers high output with lower distortion for pure, dynamic sound.

Ultimate Connectivity—Built on KEF’s Industry-Leading W2 Wireless Platform

Enjoy high-fidelity, lossless formats up to 24-bit/384kHz and multi-room audio throughout your home. LS LUXE is built on KEF’s industry-leading W2 Wireless Platform, enabling seamless music streaming with direct access to top services: Tidal, Amazon Music, Qobuz, Deezer, and more, directly from their native apps via Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, QPlay, AirPlay, or Google Cast.

LS LUXE also supports a wide range of wired connections – including HDMI eARC, analogue, optical, and coaxial, so you can easily connect your TV, CD player, or game console. Each speaker includes a dedicated subwoofer output, and audiophiles can stream from local NAS drives or music servers, supporting lossless formats up to 24-bit/384kHz PCM and DSD.

LS LUXE is easy to set up and can be precisely configured through the KEF Connect App so you can fine-tune sound performance to match your environment and personal preference. Choose ‘Normal’ mode for step-by-step guidance with minimal tools, or ‘Expert’ mode for granular control over EQ settings in dBs – putting full mastery in your hands. Advanced Room EQ DSP automatically adapts the speaker to your room while dedicated subwoofer presets guarantee seamless integration with KEF’s subwoofer range.
