In Barn for Review: Sonnet Kratos Mono Power Amplifiers

FET input + Class A/B MOSFET out = 50 Watts into 8 Ohms, 95 Watts into 4.

you can control the Kratos with the remote from a matching Sonnet DAC/Pre by using the supplied cables to tie them together

Cees Ruijtenberg of Metrum and now Sonnet fame is probably best known for his DACs, like the Sonnet Morpheus that caught my fancy when I reviewed it in September of last year. The fully balanced Kratos Mono Power Amplifiers are fairly straight forward as you can see—RCA or XLR in and a single pair of speaker binding posts out on each mono block. Just add power and a front end.

A front end very much like the new, and newly arrived in Barn, Sonnet Pasithea DAC/Preamp. Yes, I’m going to review them as a stack of Sonnet. Just add speakers.

The Kratos literature suggests they share some sonic qualities with a tube/ss hybrid design, something I look forward to listening for. Stay tuned!
