In Barn for Review: Klipsch Cornwall IV

Woof!

Timing is everything. Coming off of my Axpona Klipsch Jubilee high, I was thrilled and delighted to receive a phone call from Old Dominion Freight Line, “Hi, I’m calling to schedule a delivery? Does Friday work for you?” I explained to the helpful dispatcher that some truckers have had an issue delivering to our home. The largest being some drivers have refused to drive down our gravel road. “Let me see if I can schedule a straight truck instead. . .Does Monday work?” “Yes! Thank you!”

The Klipsch Cornwall IV, part of the company’s Heritage Series, weigh about 95 lbs. a piece, so add packaging and palette and you’ve got one heavy load. Thankfully, willing drivers can back up to the Barn close enough to drop their liftgate on the Barn slab floor. In and out in minutes, which is how it went with the Cornwall IV.

The Cornwall IV features a new, mid-frequency driver and a new midrange Tractrix™ horn for improved clarity and detail, as well as new ports for expanded clarity and deeper bass.

The outside of the Cornwall IV is a change from its predecessors as well. It features a new logo design scripted to match other Heritage products, a new matte black riser to give a floating appearance, and an updated brushed metal premium input panel.

The Cornwall specs are below, so I’ll let them do most of the talking. For now. Color me enthused and I will add that the American Walnut book-matched wood veneer looks very nice in person.

I remember, like it was yesterday, my father telling me about Klipsch speakers when I was a just a wee lad, and how the Klipshorns, first released in 1945!, could blow out a match.

Woof!
