I have a soft spot, a certain nostalgia if you will, for the classic B&W 801 loudspeaker.

I recently received an email from Jürgen Reis, MBL’s chief engineer for more than 40 years, announcing he’s no longer with the company.

The new Tidal Piano Classic are based on the company’s first speaker which hit the scene in 1999 and this ‘reinterpretation’ represents the new entry point into the Tidal lineup at $31,990/pair.

“You’ve got the look I want to know better.” If you’re as old or older than me that’ll be familiar.
