The Vandersteen KĒNTO Carbon Speakers ($41,700/pair) were mated to the Vandersteen M5-HPA high-pass mono block amplifiers ($16,800/pair), a match mage in Vandersteen heaven. They can be high-pass because the KĒNTO house side-firing Counterforce pistonic 9″ powered bass drivers. Woof!
Pure Fidelity‘s The Harmony Turntable in high gloss quilted maple (yum) (starts at $7995) sported a DS Audio DS W3 Optical Cartridge ($5000). An EMM Labs DS-EQ1 Optical Equalizer ($12,500) which was specifically made for the DS Audio cart, saw the light.
A Backert Labs Rhythm 1.3 Preamplifier ($10,750) took the analog output from an EMM Labs DA2 V2 Reference Stereo DAC ($30,000), which got it s bits from an Innuos ZENith Mk Streamer (starts at $5399).
I arrived on Sunday which I learned was we get to pick the music day, a favorite day of mine, and I picked Lucrecia Dalt’s “No Tiempo” from her amazingly wonderful ¡Ay! and within seconds this system transformed the Executive Suite into a tropical wonderland, bursting with sounds and funk and life. Bravo!
