The United Home Audio SuperDeck ($89,998) is a source that inspires wows.
Thrax Audio took over, you could say ruled, the large Twinbrook Room at the Rockville Hilton. Featuring Thrax electronics including their Teres II Mono Amplifiers ($34,500), Dionysos Preamplifier ($23,000), and Maximinus DAC MKII ($38,500), with accompaniment from a Vitus Audio SCD 25 MKII CD Player ($26,400), Ansuz D-TC Supreme Cables ($17,600 – $70,000), and the imposing Borrensen 05 Silver Supreme Speakers ($214,500) pumping pure energy into the room, all those zeros could not dispel the musical magic on display when that UHA SuperDeck took over the source position.
I believe listening to Pink Floyd’s “Money” on tape is the first time I could hear the exact amount of change used in the song.
All hyperbole aside, this system delivered a lot, a lot, of music’s goodness in grand scale. Bravo!
