Upon entering the Montrose room, I thought dealer Tenacious Sound may have snuck, or even sneaked, into the Barn and taken my stuff!
I have the Perlisten S7t Loudspeakers ($19,990) in Barn for review in the Gloss Ebony finish, just like the pair here. What’s more, there’s also an Audio Hungary Qualiton x200 Integrated Amplifier ($6499) headed my way shortly which made me wonder if there was some mind reading going on as well!
One thing I don’t have in common with the Tenacious Montrose room are those huge honking Perlisten D215 subwoofers ($8995/ea.), not one but two in use here. Woof2!
A Merason DAC 1 ($5000), Innuous Phoneix Reclocker ($3499), and Wolf Server with cables from Audience served the goods with streaming coming from the hotel’s WiFi network, a trick even Houdini shied away from. I would have preferred heavier cables on those subs as visual reassurance they wouldn’t be able to attack like hounds from Hell, but it turns out they behaved well and while this system did sound aggressive, able to shock and surprise, it was the music behind the hi-jinks.
