NOLA by Accent Speakers Technology launched two new models at CAF 2021 — one small, one big.
I was treated to the big new NOLA Metro Grand Gold Series 3 Speakers ($60,000/pair) during my all-too-brief visit which employ twin Alnico-endowed 160mm magnesium cone bass drivers, an Alnico-endowed tri-laminate midrange driver and true ribbon tweeter housed in an open baffle, with a double platform ball bearing isolation base for the 45″ tall cabinet for a more dynamic sound. Sensitivity is rated at 87dB with a 25 Hz to 100 kHz claimed frequency range.
This simple system — VAC Sigma 170i Integrated Amplifier and Audio Research REF CD8 CD player — presented a big, airy, lively, and inviting musical image that I could have settled into for much more time than show coverage allowed. Very nice.
