Album of the Week: Yu Su – Yellow River Blue

Chinese-born, Vancouver-based electronic musician Yu Su’s debut, Yellow River Blue, was made for you.

Guided by voices from around the world, Yellow River Blue weaves a lush tapestry of sounds into an eclectic and electrifying mix, experienced like a journey through space and time.

The newly established label bié Records follows Yu Su’s winter 2019 tour of mainland China where she travelled from Qingdao, the western shore of Yellow Sea Coast to Xining, the largest urban hub on the Tibetan Plateau. As she encounters musical artists and enthusiasts at the foreground of the explosive leftfield electronic scene across China, she is inspired to participate and contribute; Yu Su is delighted to offer her debut album Yellow River Blue for release through bié Records in China, with a European vinyl edition delivered by Amsterdam-based Music From Memory.

We’re going away for the weekend, for the first time in a long while, as soon as I finish this write up so I think that’s all I need to say.
