Album of the Week: New Age Doom | There Is No End

New Age Doom. New age, doom.

On New Age Doom’s latest, There Is No End released this month on We Are Busy Bodies, the Vancouver duo of Eric J. Breitenbach (Drums, Gong) and Greg Valou (Baritone and Quartertone Guitars, 5-String Bass, Percussion, Macedonian Tambura, Saz, Voice) enlist the vocal talents of Norwegian indie singer Tuva Hellum Marschhäuser (known as Tuvaband), Tim Lefebvre on Upright Bass, Electric Bass, and Synths, Benedicte Pierleoni on Drums, CrookOne on Drum Machines and Samples, Dan Rosenboom on Quartertone Trumpet, while Cola Wars plays Pocket Piano, Organ, Synths, Maxrophone, and Piano, and Gavin Templeton rounds things out on Saxophones (Baritone, Tenor, Alto, Soprano), Flute, Duduk, and Clarinet.

If that sounds like a lot of sounds, you’d be heading down the right path toward the sonic wonders waiting within There Is No End. Heavy, light, dark, light. Heavy light, dark light. Heavy light dark light.

And lovely.
