Of all the world’s shapes, the sphere may be the most…Earthy.
Way back when, I owned a pair of Anthony Gallo Nucleus speakers which were about the size and shape of a softball and more recently I’ve seen eye to eye with Cabasse’s la Sphere.

Vincent Brient’s totaldac has joined the round with the bass reflex Balloon speakers that sport a single 2-way coax driver per side. Sitting in the center of the 10″ bass driver is a 1″ compression driver with a round horn that hide behind a cloth dust cap.

Sensitivity is an amp-friendly 95dB with an 8 Ohm impedance and a claimed frequency response of 40Hz-20KHz (flat in room response). The Balloon’s spheres are made from polycarbonate and measure 500MM (19.6″) in the round and weigh a back-friendly 28 lbs. a piece. The required stands are included.
The totaldac Balloon speakers are available directly from totaldac for 15000euros incl VAT in Europe, 14000euros excl VAT out of Europe.
Here’s the press release:
Totaldac is happy to announce the release of the Balloon speaker, the only full bandwidth, high efficiency, passive, spherical point source!

You can listen to the first pair in Totaldac headquarters in France or at the Hifideluxe show in Vienna the 5th-7th of June 2026.
The Totaldac Balloon are the ideal speakers for many of us: point source, no edge diffraction, flat response, low directivity, high efficiency, easy impedance, purely passive, full bandwidth, easy to handle, easy to ship and visually appealing.
They can be used in small room (compact, point source, adjustable angle) as well as in a big room (high efficiency and high power).
