This is, without question, the most difficult post I’ve ever had to write.
The reason I pulled my review of the Fyne F501S speakers is very straight forward—the speakers that arrived for review in Barn some 8 weeks ago were, in fact, the Fyne F502S.
I hate excuses so I will not make any—I expected to receive the F501S based on conversations with the distributor and assumed that’s what arrived in Barn. Thanks to an observant reader who saw what you can see in the close-up view above, I was sent a pair of the Fyne F502S.
While these two different models look alike, the F502S have 8″ drivers as opposed to the 6″ drivers found in the F501S, something that is not glaringly obvious without a side-by-side view. Seeing as my review was fact checked by the people at Harmonia Distribution, it is easy to miss the difference.
What this means is I will edit my original review once I return home from Axpona.
In essence, this edit will not change my findings about the Fyne speaker’s performance but it will take into account the $700 difference in price per pair between the two models.
