The infamous Nurse With Wound list is the band’s guide to their musical influences, originally included in their first record Chance Meeting on a Dissecting Table of a Sewing Machine and an Umbrella from 1979 (whose title comes from the madly mad and lovingly long prose poem “Les Chants de Maldoror” by Comte de LautrĂ©amont (Isidore Ducasse) first published in 1869.

The List has acted as The Shopping List for people interested in the avant-garde in music from the late 1960s to 1980. I have referred to it. . .a lot. . .over the past few decades, especially when I am in need of the other (it should have been included on my Favorite Sources list).
If you find yourself yearning for a taste of something with more bite than pop, head to The List. And if you find yourself interested in lighting your mind on fire, give Maldoror a read.
