Melco’s Digital Music Library EX-Series are, with today’s firmware release, Roon Ready.
From the company:
Melco’s new EX Series of digital music libraries will soon benefit from Roon compatibility. The Japanese specialist’s five-strong EX Series product line up, which saw the introduction of the powerful Melco Intelligent Music Library (MIML) software, vTuner Internet radio and web control at the start of 2020, will gain Roon Ready convenience following a firmware rollout (4.04) downloadable from the Melco Audio website (USB download) from Monday the 14th of September 2020.
For those not familiar with Roon, it is my absolute favoritest way to interface with all of my file-based music, whether stored or streamed. I can still remember, with horror, the days of UPnP (it was never really Universal) and folder tree navigation that turned listening to music into a chore and a bore.
The Melco EX-Series offer internal storage from 2TB to 6TB for your music library along with a pair of Ethernet inputs (LAN and Network Player) and four USB ports for connecting a USB DAC, 2x USB Storage, and USB for Back Up.
