“Colors are the smiles of nature.” ~ Leigh Hunt
I would add—colors are the smiles of hifi, too.

Cambridge Audio jumps into the complete turntable package game with the new Spira that boasts a built-in phono stage, Bluetooth, an included pre-mounted Audio-Technica cartridge, a detachable headshell, felt mat, and a lacquered wooden plinth that comes in 5 colors which happen to match the company’s recently released L/R active speakers (more info).

I love a detachable headshell for the ease of cartridge swapping and Cambridge has thought ahead of the audiophile upgrade-itis crowd by offering the Audio-Technica 3600LE elliptical stylus as an option for the Spira. Of course you can also roll your own.

Switches around back allow you to bypass that internal phono preamp and turn Bluetooth transmitting on or off.

A smoked dust cover comes with. Nice.

The new Cambridge Audio Spira turntable is available now at cambridgeaudio.com and approved retailers for $499.

14th October 2026 – Cambridge Audio, the British audio company known for its music-first philosophy and award-winning products, is delighted to introduce Spira, the turntable any vinyl collection deserves.
Playing records has its own ritual. Choose a record, cue it up, drop the needle and feel the stillness before the music begins. Spira is made for that moment, and every listen that follows. It is a complete turntable package, ready to play from day one, with simple upgrade options as a collection grows and listening needs develop.
Spira fits seamlessly into any system, whether it’s an existing hi-fi set-up, active speakers, a Bluetooth speaker, or even headphones. Simply unbox, connect and lower the needle.

Ready to Play, Built to Grow
Spira is ready to be played from the moment it’s unboxed, with the Audio-Technica cartridge pre-fitted and aligned. However, this can be upgraded to the Audio-Technica 3600LE elliptical stylus for improved tracking performance. The addition of a removable headshell makes cartridge changes far easier.
Spira also includes a built-in phono stage and Bluetooth transmitter to create a just-add-speakers system, connecting straight to an amplifier or active speakers without the need to purchase anything extra. But for those who want to use Spira as the foundation for a full hi-fi system, the phono stage can be bypassed to output a raw signal, opening the upgrade door to an external phono stage such as Cambridge Audio’s award-winning Alva Solo or Alva Duo.
The built-in Bluetooth transmitter also helps to reduce the cables needed by sending favourite tracks to wireless speakers or headphones.

Tuned to Perform, Made to Last
An aluminium alloy tonearm with adjustable counterweight, alongside adjustable anti-skate, offers real control over how the record is tracked.
A solid, lacquered wooden plinth houses the motor, belt-driving a sub-platter and a 1.8kg engineered steel platter to improve rotational stability and lower vibration. A felt mat controls resonance and stops records from slipping mid-play, while a ground connector and vibration-absorbing feet keep any hum and rumble out of the signal, so the only thing coming through the speakers is the music.
A single dial to electronically switch between 33 and 45rpm means changing speed never gets in the way of listening to the next album or seven-inch single. Additionally, a hinged, smoked dust cover keeps records and the stylus free of dust between plays, closing neatly over the deck without hiding its design.
A Colour That Fits Around You
A record collection says something about the person who built it, and with Spira, a turntable can say something too. Available in Black, White, Blue, Green and Orange finishes, bold or subtle, matched to the hues of Cambridge Audio’s L/R active stereo speakers and offering enough choice to blend into or stand out in any home decor.
Cambridge Audio Spira will be available from 14th October 2026 at cambridgeaudio.com and approved retailers, priced at £329 / €349 / $499 / HK$3480
