European Audio Team’s (EAT) customer’s spoke and the Austrian company listened—the new entry level EAT C-Dur ‘table features onboard speed control to minimize size while adding premium finishes previously only available on their higher end models.
From the press release:
The foundation of the C-Dur is its massive 50mm MDF plinth. The rotating mass of the platter and sub-platter add to a substantial 13.45lb. Since the moment of inertia is directly proportional to the square of the radius, the C-Dur’s platter is an oversized 13.5 inches. This design choice maximizes inertia while minimizing bearing load and noise. The platter’s Teflon thrust plate rests on a 3.9lb inverted bearing assembly with stainless steel spindle and ceramic ball. The combination with EAT’s proven low-noise, fully decoupled motor, and onboard AC generator gives the C-Dur remarkable speed stability and vanishingly low levels of rumble.
The C-Dur comes with the 10″ C-Note tonearm also found on EAT’s well received C-Sharp ‘table.
The EAT C-Dur turntable starts at $3,799 for the Satin Black version while the Plum wood wrapped model comes in at $4,499. Buyers can add their own cartridge or buy into a bundle that includes EAT’s Jo No. 5 moving coil cartridge that adds $800 to the total.
