There’s no mistaking a Vivid Audio speaker. Even, I would suggest, with one’s eyes closed and ears open.

The form employed by Vivid Audio speakers serves its function. The tapered tube absorber, the curved pipe up top, is part of the bass enclosure and acts to completely eliminate the top to bottom resonances and deliver sharp accurate bass according to the company.

The G3 Series 2 is a 4-way 5 driver system that is capable of 36 – 33,000 Hz (+/- 2 dB on reference) frequency response while offering a 6 Ohm nominal/4 Ohm minimum impedance and 87 dB (@ 2.83 VRMS at 1 m on axis) sensitivity.

You may remember my (hopefully) obvious attraction to the Vivid K45s I reviewed back in July: “While beauty is in the ear of the beholder, I recommend the Vivid Kaya K45 to anyone looking to get as close to music as their time and attention allows with essentially no interference from the associated speaker.” Or even my trip to Vivid’s US Distributor, GTT Audio, to hear a whole bunch of Vivid speakers including these same smoky green (Land Rover green) G3 Series 2s.

“Once again, moving up the Vivid line with the GIYA G3 Series 2 brought more—mainly the ability to better energize the space of this place offering a more visceral experience. But the overall character of the sound(s) remained very consistent from the K25 on up.”
I very much look forward to a more visceral Vivid experience in Barn.
