In Barn for Review: iBasso DC03 DAC/Headphone Amplifier

A dongle DAC extravaganza!

The iBasso DC03 ($69) joins the Helm Audio Bolt DAC, Clarus CODA DAC, and host of AudioQuest Dragonflys in Barn for dongle DACapalooza!

The diminutive iBasso supports PCM resolutions up to 32bit/384kHz and DSD  to DSD256 using a pair of Cirrus Logic CS43131 DAC chips. The input side relies on a USB Type-C connector while a 3.5mm jack feeds your headphones. The company developed an Android app that allows users to adjust volume in 64 steps for fine adjustment and the DC03 boasts a signal-to-noise ratio of 127dB and THD+N reaching 0.00028%.

For users looking to leash the DC03 to their computers, a USB Type-C to USB Type-A adapter (not included) will do that trick.

iBasso is known for their DAPs and IEMs but the DC03 is, as its name would suggest, their third portable DAC.
