I’ve seen photos of the sand cast aluminum and bronze clad Galle DAC from Portugal’s Cinnamon Audio that certainly grabbed my (aesthetic) attention.
Nashville’s Gestalt Audio Design is the US importer for all things Cinnamon Audio and they will be showcasing the Galle DAC, the matching USB-output only Galle Transport, a new Phono Preamoplier along with the US debut of the Cinnamon Audio “pure dipole, hybrid” Ellipticum loudspeakers.
The Cinnamon Galle DAC employs a “quasi non-oversampling scheme, leveraging cutting-edge signal processing methods. This unique approach utilizes a dual-mono, 27-bit differential resistor ladder, featuring over 430 precision resistors with a remarkable 0.01% tolerance.” My totaldac d1-unity also uses 0.01% tolerance resistors (from Vishay) for its resistor ladder so I’m on board with how remarkable an R2R DAC can sound.
