Different is as different does and Rich Pinto took his Treehaus Audiolab to new heights at Axpona 2026.
Here pictures tell much of the story but what you can’t tell from a photo and system list is a) how the system sounds, b) what it feels like to be in its presence and c) how interacting with other people sharing in the experience helped shape it. For those who poo poo attending hifi shows and get all they need from press releases and photos these things clearly don’t matter, an attitude I find foreign seeing as I’m interested expanding not becoming more insular.
I’ve reviewed two products from Treehaus Audiolab including their ‘Phantom of Luxury’ Field Coil Loudspeakers (review) and The Preamplifer & 300B-2 SET Amplifier pre/power combo (review) and was impressed by both finding delight for ears and eyes, heart and soul. This system comprised of “Special Projects” for Axpona 2026 also hit hard—a stunning system in every way.
In my other life as a collector and artist I pay attention to every aspect of the things I collect and make, the story behind the thing(s) and where applicable the hand and craft involved in the making. As you might imagine, the products from Rich Pinto’s Treehaus touch these personal interests in ways a lot of hifi doesn’t while this system offered a visceral sense of immediacy and openness with rich vibrant colors.
