I had the good fortune of seeing and hearing an early example of the Unison S6 Black Edition at the company’s HQ located near the nearly unbelievably picturesque city of Treviso in northern Italy.

In one of 7 (!) rooms hosted by Fidelity Imports at Axpona 2025, the new Unison S6 Black Edition was paired with the new Opera Quinta v.2 loudspeakers, I got to hear a prototype pair at HQ, with an Aurender N150 serving the Black Edition S6’s internal DAC.
The Black Edition S6’s output stage runs in Class A and sports a trio of Gold Lion KT77s per side putting out 40 Watts of output power. The 3-way/4-driver Opera Quinta v.2 have a claimed sensitivity of 91dB with a 4 Ohm nominal impedance and in this small room this simple system offered a rich, fast, and relaxed sound, the kind of sound I call—inviting.

The System:
Aurender N150 Music Server: $3500
Unison S6 Black Edition Integrated Amplifier: $6999
Opera Quinta v.2 Loudspeakers: $6999/pair
Cables from QED
