Esoteric pushes the performance of their best-selling Network DAC Preamplifier and the Class A Stereo Power Amplifier with the forthcoming “XE” Series, coming this Spring.
The Esoteric “N-05XE” Network DAC Preamplifier houses the company’s proprietary “G2” FPGA-based DAC “powered by 64-bit/512Fs ΔΣ modulator” with separate processing algorithms for PCM and DSD. On the streaming side, the N-05XE supports the current trio of “Connect” apps from Tidal, Qobuz, and that other company and arrives Roon Ready.
In addition to the usual suspects, the N-05XE adds a fiber SFP network input as well as a 10MHz Word Clock input for keeping better time.
The “S-05XE” Class A Stereo Power Amplifier offers 30W per Channel Into 8Ω (Class A) / 60W per Channel Into 4Ω / 120W Into 8Ω (BTL) and I don’t know about you but 30Watts of Class A power has a tendency to sound sweet in my experience. Just ask Aleph.
A toggle switch around back allows you to the run S-05X in one of three modes—Stereo, Bi-Amp, and BTL (Bridge-Tied Load) for those in need of harnessing more output power.
The N-05XE and S-05X are due to arrive this Spring and come with recommended retail prices of $13,000 for the N-05XE and $13,500 for the S-05X.

The N-05XE network DAC preamplifier features next-generation discrete DAC and network engine technologies for even higher sound quality.
