I know you know, but a network transport connects to your network on its input side and spits out digital audio on the other to feed your DAC of choice.
A seemingly simple solution.

In the case of TEAC’S forthcoming NT-507T Network Transport there’s a choice for that network connection between RJ45, optical SFP, and WiFi. As you may know, an optical Ethernet connection does not pass electrical noise which is a good thing, in theory. On the output side the choice is USB.

Control of the NT-507T can be accomplished via TEAC’s own HR Streamer App, Roon, Tidal and Qobuz Connect, and OpenHome Compliant apps. As you can see the two USB Drive inputs, front and back, allow you to connect stored music. One feature that piqued my interest is that “Roon ONLY” toggle switch that deactivates all other apps, granting Roon complete control of the NT-507T ‘s processing power for claimed sonic benefits.

As you might imagine, the NT-507T is a perfect visual and form factor fit for one of TEAC’s own Reference 500 Series DACs or DAC-endowed devices like the UD-507 USB DAC/Headphone Amplifier/Preamp.
The TEAC NT-507T Network Transport will begin shipping in December 2025 with an asking price of $2,499.99.
Here’s the press release:
TEAC Expands Its Reference 500 Series with NT-507T Network Transport

Tokyo, Japan (October 30, 2025) — TEAC is pleased to announce the release of the NT-507T, a dedicated network streaming transport that joins the TEAC Reference 500 Series of premium mid-sized components. The new model serves as an all-digital network companion for TEAC’s UD-507 DAC/preamp, and other D/A converter products equipped with USB inputs.
Delivering Bit-Perfect Audio Streaming to External DACs
With TEAC’s unwavering commitment to exceptional sound quality and intuitive usability, the NT-507T takes the enjoyment of music streaming to a new level. Designed exclusively for USB digital output, the NT-507T pairs seamlessly with the TEAC UD-507, which features TEAC’s proprietary discrete “TRDD5” DAC to deliver reference-grade sound from online streaming and locally stored NAS audio sources. The NT-507T is compatible with USB-equipped DACs outside of the TEAC family as well.
The NT-507T is driven by the TEAC Network Engine G4, a proprietary high-end processing platform developed specifically for audio streaming applications. Unlike general-purpose streaming solutions that repurpose off-the-shelf components, this engine was designed from scratch to prioritize signal integrity and timing accuracy. A large linear power supply replaces noise-inducing switching circuits, ensuring dynamic, natural, and fluid sound reminiscent of vinyl playback. Network connectivity is equally versatile, offering Ethernet RJ45, SFP optical input, and Wi-Fi 6 support. Its high-fidelity USB output, equipped with an independent power supply section, guarantees pristine signal transmission to your DAC.
Modern Streaming & Control Software
In keeping with TEAC’s focus on ease and usability in today’s streaming lifestyle, the NT-507T integrates smoothly with OpenHome-compatible apps such as the brand’s own TEAC HR Streamer. The unit’s USB Volume Function lets users control the volume of connected USB DACs or preamps directly from the app, simplifying system management.
The NT-507T supports leading high-resolution streaming services including Qobuz, Spotify, TIDAL, and TuneIn, and features a dedicated Roon Ready mode for integration with advanced multi-room systems and high-resolution playback environments. Two USB ports also allow for direct connection of flash drives, HDDs, or SSDs, enabling the NT-507T to serve as a simple music server (NAS).
