Che bello! Sonus faber’s new Lumina (the light) entry level line manages to maintain the Italian company’s good looks.
The Lumina collection includes three speakers — the Lumina I bookshelf ($899/pair), Lumina II floorstander ($2199/pair), and Lumina I center ($699/each). Each inherits the company’s D.A.D. (Damped Apex Dome) technology for their 1″ high definition tweeters. The Lumina II include 5″ proprietary natural fiber and paper blend air-dried diaphragm midrange drivers as found in the company’s Sonata series coupled with new 6″ paper cone woofers developed for the Lumina. The Lumina I adds a newly developed cellulose pulp and natural fiber 5″ midwoofer. The Lumina feature multilayer wood front baffles and a pair of nickel plated binding posts for those who choose to go bi-wire.
Sonus faber is clearly pitching lifestyle in the accompanying promotional material which is just fine by me.
