I’ve long admired Rotel’s beefy Michi line of electronics, alas from afar. The recently announced Prestige Series brings Michi quality to a lower price point with the X430 Integrated Amp & Q430 CD Player.
How much lower? The Prestige Series X430 Integrated Amplifier comes in at $4999 compared the Michi X3 Series 2 Integrated Amplifier at $7499 while the Prestige Q430 CD Player shaves an even $3k off the price of the Michi Q5 Transport CD Player/DAC.
The new Prestige Series X430 Integrated Amplifier is rated at 210 Watts per channel into 8 Ohms and 340 Watts per channel into 4 Ohms as compared to the X3’s 350/600 Watt specs into 8 and 4 Ohms respectively.
Like its higher-priced brother, the X430 also includes a MM Phono input and an ESS DAC with the Prestige sporting the ESS SABRE 32-bit ES9039Q2M. For those who like to compare hifi gear’s weight as if they are prize fighters, the X430 weighs in at 37.26 lbs. versus the heavyweight X3’s beefier 95.56 lbs.
Thew new Michi Prestige Q430 CD Player also sports an ESS DAC, the ESS SABRE ES9028PRO DAC which is used in the X430 as well as the Michi Q5 CD Player. It’s worth noting that the Ethernet/Network input on both the Q430 and X430 are for software updates not streaming.
The Michi Prestige X430 and Michi Prestige Q430 are available in North America beginning in March 2026, i.e. now, with global availability to follow early in the second quarter of 2026.
