dCS, maker of some of the most engaging digital products I’ve heard, announced the birth of Bartók, an Upsampling Network DAC and the entry point in the dCS lineup when sorted by price (ascending). Bartók retails for $13,500 and/or $15,000 if you opt for the integrated Class-A Headphone Amplifier.
Being a dCS product, you get the same engineering expertise that informs their Rossini and Vivaldi DACs including “the latest generation dCS Digital Processing Platform and Ring DAC”. Being a Network DAC, and a Roon-Ready one at that!, you can stream from your music library, Tidal (you want Tidal HiFi), Spotify, and your Apple device via AirPlay. Bartók’s network interface can also fully decode MQA.
