MoFi Electronics + Mytek Audio’s Michal Jurewicz = MoFi’s New StudioDAC

MoFi Electronics has a history of teaming up with world-class engineers when designing things like speakers (Andrew Jones), turntables (Alan Perkins), and electronics (Peter Madnick). For the new StudioDAC, MoFi brought in Mytek’s Michal Jurewicz to collaborate.

The paperback book-sized StudioDAC, visually reminiscent of their StudioPhono Phono Stage I reviewed and enjoyed, sports USB, Coax S/PDIF, and Toslink inputs and a pair of single-ended RCAs as output.

The StudioDAC supports DSD, DXD, and full MQA decoding + rendering and also houses a low-noise precision clock generator as well as an Apodizing Filter that eradicates sharp-edged high frequencies and pre-ringing artifacts according to the company.

What does all of this know-how and tech gonna cost you? In what I’d say is typical MoFi Electronics fashion, probably less than than you’d expect at $599. The StudioDAC is available now.
