Denmark’s Peak Consult is owned by Lennart Asbjørn and Wilfried Ehrenholz who was an owner and co-founder of Dynaudio.
Peak Consult was founded in 1976 but changed hands to the current owners in 2021 and the company offers a total of four speaker models (in ascending price order)—Dragon Legacy, El Diablo, Sinfonia, and Sonora with the center channel Tonos filling out the small stable.
Every Peak model comes equipped with proprietary drivers built to Peak Consult’s specifications sourced from Audio Technology who are also based in Denmark with old ties to Dynaudio—co-founder of Advanced, Per Skaaning, also founded Dynaudio (and Scan-Speak). The Sinfonia in Barn for review are a three-way rear-ported design with a 26mm silk soft dome tweeter and a 11cm polypropylene midrange driver that share the slanted front baffle while a 20cm polypropylene bass driver sits perfectly vertical below.
Peak follows the less is better approach when it comes to box coloration and they go to some lengths to eliminate them with a cabinet constructed from multiple layers of different materials using four different adhesives “each selected for its specific mechanical properties, ensuring the construction is exacting and highly developed.” The hardwired crossovers are mounted on separate MDF boards and reside in their own sealed and sand-filled chamber.
The Sinfonia come with a single pair of binding posts but dual posts are available as a no-cost option.
In terms of the materials we can see, the review pair are finished in American Walnut with black acrylic panels centered on each side with black leather surfaces on the front baffle and rear panel that extends nearly the full length of the back side. I think the Sinfonia look smart and rather unique with all those materials and angles. Serious, even, and their 170 lbs a piece reinforce that impression.
Frequency response is not stated in the specs but that tweeter extends beyond 30kHz according to the company and the brief product video on the Peak website states the Sinfonia reach down to 25Hz. Sensitivity is rated at 89dB with a 5 ohm nominal impedance so if all goes according to specs, not a difficult load to drive.
I got to hear the smaller Sonora at Axpona 2026 and said:
This was an elegant system in sight and sound and my ears delighted in its surprising “where’s the subwoofer” fullrange reach and authority coming from a modestly-sized two-way (albeit one that weighs nearly 150 lbs which tells you something about what’s going on inside).
