In Barn for Review: Credo EV 1202 Ref. Loudspeakers

When the BIG system left, they left behind a smaller Credo: meet the EV 1202 Ref. in the Barn-appropriate custom Rough Cut finish. Yum.

The Credo EV (for EVolution) 1202 Ref. employ a MTM array, with a pair of 5.5″ sliced paper cone mid-woofers over and under a 1″ coated textile done tweeter. The company claims full-range performance with a frequency response from 32Hz – 20kHz (+/- 3dB), a 86.6 dB efficiency (@ 2.83V @ 1m), with a nominal impedance that gets down to 2.1 Ohms @ 40 Hz (4 Ohm nominal impedance). Credo recommends a minimum of 50 Watts to drive ’em.

As you can see, the Credo EV 1202 Ref. are super slender towers, measuring a svelte 7″ across and 8.6″ deep and they stand on Isolation Bases that decouple the speaker from the floor to improve overall performance according to Credo. If you nudge them, they sort of sway ever so gently.

I look forward to giving these slim Rough Cut slabs a spin. Stay tuned.
