From the True Source website:
G.I.P. Laboratory builds horn loudspeaker systems based on classic theater technology from the Western Electric company of the 1930s.
The company manufactures complete horn loudspeaker systems, many with their own Western Electric replica field-coil compression drivers and woofers.
On active display in Room 830 at CAF 2024 will be the G.I.P. 4165 open baffle system ($72,000/pair with the non field-coil tweeter, $87,000/pair with the 597A field-coil tweeter)—”Built in 1933, the 4165 was Western Electric’s ‘entry level’ system for smaller theaters that sat around 200 people.”
The G.I.P. 4165 will be powered by G.I.P. electronics with AMG turntables as source, care of Sierra Sound. Tube electronics from Japan’s Mactone will also be on static display.
True Source has leapt onto my Must See List of rooms for CAF 2024. Tasty.
