The Bluesound Node 2i is a genuine HiFi Bargain, nearly a classic, so I am very happy to see it getting some renewed attention.
Updates for both models include new DACs that support MQA and PCM resolutions up to 24-bit/192kHz (up from 96kHz in the old models), more powerful processors (ARM Cortex A53 Quad-Core chipset), and touch panel controls with presets and proximity sensors. The PowerNode gets more power, offering 80wpc (up from 60wpc in the PowerNode 2i), while the Node adds an eARC HDMI input (enhanced Audio Return Channel) for use with eARC endowed TVs.
The new models keep the old model pricing with the Node retailing for US$549 and the new PowerNode coming in at US$899. You can pre-order now for June 2021 ship dates.
