With each passing year and show, I try to re-think my approach to coverage as the landscape has changed over the course of the past 20 years.
Back in ye olde days, before social media completely took over our attention and YouTube was still in its infancy, show coverage was mostly limited to print magazines, websites, and forums and if you wanted the scoop on all the new gear with photos in a timely manner, websites were largely where that was at.
Today, everyone posts show coverage with lots of nearly live coverage going from camera to web within seconds. When print was king, you’d have to wait a month or two see what’s new. Quaint by today’s standard.
Which raises the question, at least to me—what value can I bring to it?
For Axpona 2025, I’ve decided to answer that question by sharing my favorite rooms, notable gear, and finally a summary of my overall impressions and final thoughts.
I should note that I did not get to all 200+ rooms at Axpona 2025. No single person could, unless stepping a foot in the door counts as a visit (it doesn’t).
