Historian is Lucy Dacus’ latest release on Matador and it’s a record that has grown on me, or I’ve grown into it, over time like a too-big comfortable cardigan.
Her lyrics are wise, her voice pure, while the production quality is as high as it needs to be, read intimate, to convey Dacus’ oh-so-personal language.
Historian was released back in March and I don’t think a week has passed without at least one listen, which typically turns into more. Take a taste but come back often. You’ll be happy you did.
