Album of the Week: Keeley Forsyth | Limbs

Singular voices, singular visions.

Some of my favorite music entices with otherness. Kelly Forsth’s Limbs, released on The Leaf Label last month, lurches and drones while Forsthy’s lovely knotted throaty vocals hover just above a barren landscape.

I’m reminded of Nico in the best possible way, not because these unique voices sound alike, but because the mood they create in my bones feels related. Uncomfortable, caressed, windswept, barren, brutal, elemental, and completely human. This is a record you’ll want to move into and inhabit for the duration.
