The Sonora Pine is Tara Jane O’Neil (Guitar, Bass, Vocals), Kevin Coultas (Drums), and Samara Lubelski (Violin) and I’ve come to learn to keep an eye and ear out for anything involving O’Neil.
II was originally released in 1997 on Chicago’s Quarterstick Records and also included guests—Noel Hawley (cello), Todd Hildreth (organ), and Nora Christensen (accordion).
While I only recently came across The Sonora Pine, II has already seen lots of playtime all the way through. Again and again because this is lovely meandering hypnotic music that slows time and grabs all of one’s attention.
