Deliverance And Spiritual Warfare by Holy Tongue was released by Amidah Records on 05 May 2023 yet its relatively new to me.
From the liner notes:
On Deliverance And Spiritual Warfare the band present their most focused work yet, fully exploring their diverse influences, from the opening Andalusian catholic march to heavyweight dub via jazz, post punk, mystical percussion tracks and techno.
Valentina Magaletti – Drums, Percussion, Piano, Vibraphone, Xylophone
Susumu Mukai – Bass Guitar, Percussion
Al Wootton – Synthesizers, Bass Guitar, Double Bass, Piano, Autoharp, Percussion
Trumpets on track 1 by David Wootton
Prepared Piano on tracks 7 and 10 by Steve Beresford
Trumpets on track 10 by Abraham Parker
Together these musicians stir up a rich and flavorful spell that’s heavy on percussion, bass, and the unexpected. Of all those elements it’s that last one that draws me in the most.
