Hesse Kassel is Renatto Olivares on guitar, saxophone, and vocals, Luca Cosignani on guitar and vocals, Mauricio Rosas on guitar, Matthew Hopper on bass, Eduardo Padilla on drums,and Joaquín González on keyboards and backing vocals. Progressive and edgy, La Brea, self-released on March 1, 2025, walks a number of lines over the course of its 1:19 run time and it does so with stunning musicianship, precision, and abandon (and madness).
Among my favorite kinds of music, challenging music sits comfortably at the top and La Brea has a challenge and surprise around every gnarly change.
