Denon Introduces A High(er) End Streamer: the DNP-2000NE

Denon asks its Instagram audience—What does a network streamer do that your phone can’t?

And answers:

Well, you’re phone doesn’t have a DAC (digital-to-analog converter) which decodes higher resolution digital music—and this streamer does. Your phone also doesn’t have such a commanding presence when placed on your audio cabinetry.

According to the DNP-2000NE’s back panel, it actually does a lot more than any phone can handle with multiple digital inputs and outputs, HDMI ARC to connect to your TV, while offering a long list of features including an in-built DAC with its attendant analog RCA outputs and a headphone amp.

Along with Denon’s homebrew HEOS Built-In WiFi networking and control app, the DNP-2000NE is also Roon Certified, supports AirPlay2, Spotify Connect, Tidal, Deezer Premium/Deezer HiFi, Amazon Music Unlimited/Amazon Music HD/Prime Music, Sirius XM Internet Radio, and more. When fed via its USB input, the Denon Streamer can handle 11.2-MHz DSD and 32-bit/384-kHz PCM files.

The new Denon DNP-2000NE High-Resolution audio streamer with HEOS® Built-in comes with a price of $1599 and will begin shipping later this month.
