Album of the Week: Welles

Do you like T. Rex? I do because I enjoy hook-rich rock. If you like T. Rex, you’ll like Welles.

Red Trees and White Trashes, is the band’s debut LP, released on June 15th, and it is pure rock and roll. Take that to mean whatever you like in terms of a judgement call. Jesse Wells, the man behind Welles and Ozark, Arkansas native, is clearly enjoying the crap of playing this music and I find myself sharing that enjoyment, even on extended repeat.

His band is pretty tight, too.

You can get Red Trees and White Trashes directly from Welles website. If you opt for the download, note that it’s only available as an MP3 here (yuck) but  you can get the 24/96 version from HDtracks (I did).
