The Gold Note PH-10 phono stage has got some curves, EQ curves, baby.
“Decca London” and “American/Columbia” are the presets for playing back pre-RIAA records (like 78s!) which can be “Enhanced” using our proprietary technology inspired by the Neumann Cutting Lathe to extend the frequency response up to 50kHz, which in some systems can improve even further the stage, dynamics and resolution. Changing settings is as easy as a twist and push of the front panel knob with the visual assistance of that 2.8″ color TFT display.
Of course you can also play yer basic LPs using the RIAA setting and there are a total of 4 Gain options (-3dB, 0dB, +3dB, +6dB ) and 9 Load options (10 , 22 , 47 , 100 , 220 , 470 , 1000 , 22K , 47K) to match your MM and/or MC cartridge requirements.
And I say and/or because there are 2 pair of single-ended RCA inputs to accommodate two tonearms/carts and single-ended RCA and balanced XLR outputs. While there’s a standard IEC inlet for attaching a power cord, that PSU DIN is for attaching Gold Note’s PSU-10 External Power Supply (+$1199).
The all analog, shoe box-sized PH-10 is wrapped in brushed aluminum offered in a Black, Silver or Gold finish. All Gold Note products are made in Florence, Italy (the lucky devils).
I look forward to giving this full featured phono stage’s full features a complete workout. Stay tuned!
